Surgery Closures

The Surgery will be closed from 3.30 pm until 6.30 pm on Thursday 28th March 2019 for mandatory staff training.

Medical Care when we're closed ...

NHS 111    If you require medical help, please call the NHS 111 service on 111.  This service is for urgent medical situations or if you or a member of your family becomes ill and you are concerned.  

Local Pharmacist   Your local pharmacist is often able to help you with mild medical ailments. 

999   If you injury or illness is severe or if you have had a serious accident, telephone 999 and ask for an ambulance. Alternatively visit your local A&E department.

Walk-in Centre.  There is a weekend clinic in the local area for holidaymakers, people without a permanent registered GP or those seeking treatment outside of normal surgery hours.  There are no telephone bookings - you just turn up and are allocated an appointment on arrival.  Please bear in mind that these clinics can be extremely busy and you may have a long wait to be seen.  The weekend Walk-in Centre is at:

Boscombe & Springbourne Health Centre, 66-68 Palmerston Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth  BH1 4HT.  Opening times: Saturday and Sunday 8 am to 8 pm.

YOUR PHARMACY TEAM CAN HELP YOU WITH MINOR HEALTH CONCERNS

They're healthcare experts who can give you clinical advice, right there and then.  And if symptoms suggest it's more serious, they'll ensure you get the help you need.

home_visitPlease remember that home visiting is very time-consuming for the doctor. Up to 12 patients can be seen in surgery during the time the doctor can visit 2 or 3 patients.

Home visits are therefore only advisable when the medical condition of the ill person is such that attendance at surgery is not possible. When the medical condition does not prevent travel please make every effort to attend the surgery.

The doctors organise their work and allocate their visits at 11.00 am. Please call before then if a visit is anticipated. Late calls would therefore all go to a Duty Doctor who will be starting a surgery at 3.30 pm. Late requests for visits can thus compromise the service and lead to delay. Visits are usually performed between 12.30 pm and 3.00 pm.
