Surgery Closures

The Surgery will be closed from 3.30 pm until 6.30 pm on Thursday 28th March 2019 for mandatory staff training.

Medical Care when we're closed ...

NHS 111    If you require medical help, please call the NHS 111 service on 111.  This service is for urgent medical situations or if you or a member of your family becomes ill and you are concerned.  

Local Pharmacist   Your local pharmacist is often able to help you with mild medical ailments. 

999   If you injury or illness is severe or if you have had a serious accident, telephone 999 and ask for an ambulance. Alternatively visit your local A&E department.

Walk-in Centre.  There is a weekend clinic in the local area for holidaymakers, people without a permanent registered GP or those seeking treatment outside of normal surgery hours.  There are no telephone bookings - you just turn up and are allocated an appointment on arrival.  Please bear in mind that these clinics can be extremely busy and you may have a long wait to be seen.  The weekend Walk-in Centre is at:

They're healthcare experts who can give you clinical advice, right there and then.  And if symptoms suggest it's more serious, they'll ensure you get the help you need. 

How do I register with the practice?

Please bring along your medical card which the receptionist can help you complete. If you do not possess a medical card ask at Reception for an application form (GMS1) or you can download one here.

Summary Care Record

Please be aware that every patient registering with the NHS will automatically be opted in to the Summary Care Record Scheme.  This is a Central NHS electronic computer record which contains information about the medicines you take, allergies you suffer from and any bad reactions to medicines you have had.  Further details on this and how you can opt are found in the 'Summary Care Record' section in 'Further Information'. 

New patients will be asked to complete a personal health questionnaire and to make an appointment with the Practice Nurse for a basic health check. If you have a complicated medical history or take regular medication please make an additional appointment with the doctor after your basic Health Check.

Visitors/Holiday makers are registered on a special form (T/R) provided at Reception.

You will be registering with the Practice and can therefore see any of the doctors in the Practice. However, it is preferable to remain with the same doctor for the duration of treatment of a particular illness and you may select a “preferred doctor” when you register.
