National Diabetes Audit

The diabetes service at the Village Surgery is taking part in an important project to check that people with diabetes are being provided with good care.  The project is called the National Diabetes Audit (NDA).

The NDA collects information about patient care from GP practices and hospitals and this information is used to provide your diabetes service with reports about the standard of care they are providing to their patients.

The NDA is managed by the Health & Social Care Information Service (HSCIC), working in collaboration with Diabetes UK.

Only information that has been already recorded about your diabetes care by us or clinic is used and this is studied along with information from all the other diabetes services in England and Wales.  Please be reassured that the NDA is not a research project and no extra tests or appointments are necessary.

However, you can opt out of participating in this audit and please let your clinician or a receptionist know that you wish to do so and a note will be added to your medical records.

Full details of the National Diabetes Audit can be found in this leaflet.
